What are the types of silk fabrics

Common Silk fabric types have silk satin fabric, silk stretch satin, silk crepe de chine, silk georgette, silk organza, silk habotai, silk chiffon, silk duchess, silk crinkle chiffon, silk taffeta, silk knitted fabric, etc. each with its own characteristics.

1. Silk satin: a regular fabric in the silk fabric, bright satin is very noble, as bright as the pearl-like luster, the feel is also smooth and soft.  

2. Silk crepe. The surface has fine and uniform wrinkles, light and smooth texture, bright and soft color, comfortable and cool to wear, good breathability, good wrinkle resistance, the silk body is heavier than georgette. Commonly used as shirts, skirts, hair bands & scarves and other accessories.

3. Silk stretch satin: the composition 90%-95% mulberry silk, 5%-10% spandex. Features are good elasticity, comfortable, small shrinkage, unique style.

4. Silk georgette: the texture is very light and thin, and the feel is very soft, elastic, breathable, drape is also very good, flowing and transparent, with a lot of stretch elasticity, suitable for shirts, skirts and high end evening dresses.

5. Silk chiffon: light and transparent fabric, soft to the touch, good breathability, clothing favorite summer wear cool and breathable. Commonly used as shirts, dresses, wedding dresses, etc.

6. Silk organza: alias silk gauze, transparent or translucent light yarn plain fabric, thin as cicada wings, transparent details, silk surface flat, skeletal, smooth to the touch, is a very stiff hard yarn. Commonly used in wedding dresses, performance clothes, curtains and other decorative fabrics.

Silk fabric is pure mulberry silk fabric, according to the fabric square meter weight, divided into thin, medium and thick type. According to the different post-processing, it is divided into two kinds of dyeing and printing. It has soft and smooth texture, soft and light handfeel, colorful flowers and colors, cool and comfortable to wear. Mainly used as summer shirts, pajamas, dress fabrics and headscarves and so on.
