Tencel is a brand name for a set of fibers called lyocell and modal (think of it like Band-Aids are to bandages or Kleenex are to tissues). The development of tencel was motivated by environmental concerns; researchers sought to manufacture rayon by means less harmful than the viscose method. Lyocell may be blended with a variety of other fibers such as silk, cotton, rayon, polyester, linen, nylon, and wool. Lyocell also is used in conveyor belts, specialty papers, and medical dressings. It is widely used in many areas.

This solvent-spinning process recycles process water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%.

How to take care of tencel denim fabric?

There is no need to wash the clothes after every wear. Because Tencel has better moisture management than cotton and it is more resistant to odors.

But if you need to wash it, you can follow the instructions below.

1.Do not overload your washing machine. Heavy loads cause friction which wears clothes out faster and may also result in the garments staying dirty.

2.Turn your garment inside out. We advise you to put it in a wash bag to avoid damage.

3.Wash with similar colors.

4.We recommend using wool detergent since it is less aggressive, and your clothes will look better for a longer time.

5.Don't use too much laundry detergent since overdosing won't affect making your clothes cleaner.

6.Do not use fabric softener or bleach. It can damage the color of the clothes.

7.Wash cold at 30℃delicate program, maximum 1400 cycles.

8.Do not tumble dry, only dry by air.

9.Hang your clothes on a hanger or a line.

10.Avoid direct heat or sunlight.

11.Iron at low temperature. Set the iron on the Medium or 2-dot heat setting.

12.Use steam to remove creases. Or you can spray on some water before applying the iron to the garment.

13.Do not use any spray-on starch or softeners.

14.You can hang or fold your Tencel clothes in the closet.

15.When you store your shirts for a longer time, wash them first before you store them in airtight bags or boxes.
